Olyoak is owned by Dallan Wright. Dallan grew up on the rural streets of a small Idaho town and now lives in the million times more humid commonwealth of Kentucky. He’s worked on dairy, cattle, and oyster farms as well as printed and published art for over 26 years. Dallan thinks odd thoughts and brings wild ideas to any meeting he attends. He used to wear a suit. He no longer wears a suit.
Lacking a proper outlet for his quirks, and harboring a solid hate of social media, Dallan decided to put his energy into the creation of handmade rifle stocks others might enjoy.
The first time Dallan shot a Ruger PC Carbine was just outside of Phoenix, in the desert, with his friend. He instantly fell in love with the precision, low-recoil, and feel of the full sized carbine. Just loved it. He swore at that point I was going to get one of his own. After reading about the PPSh-41 and seeing others create their own hybrids, Dallan thought of how he could create his own version. The OlyOak stock’s you see featured on this site are the results of many hours of trial and error, but incredibly and enjoyable hours.
